When we got Tilde, it was a relief, photogenically speaking. I've had a lot of dark to black dogs, and it's sometimes difficult to get a good photo of them.

Then, when I got Krypto, I was similarly happy that I would be able to get good photos.

Unfortunately, I can't.

First, my lighting in here isn't good, and it's more dark out than light at this time of year. So, spontaneous photos are out - they come out as double, as you will all see this weekend.

Second, there's something about the distance and his coloring that just doesn't read well in photos.

He's tannish-reddish-brown, with a black mask, black nose, and black saddle.

In most photos, though, his nose looks mostly pink, his mask is partially there, or missing, and his color isn't right at all.

I get the nose problem, sort of. He pushes dirt and gravel with it, digging, and it does cause a little pinkness, but barely, whereas it's a lot in photos.

The mask, I have no idea, but I love his mask and it just doesn't show all the time.

His very black full saddle sometimes shows well, sometimes not.

Darn.

At least he doesn't mind his picture being taken.
