Yes, piglets are adorable.
I guess that you would, re: rattlesnakes. I'd just never thought of that before. Here there are a lot in the woods and pastures, as well as other wilderness areas.
In S. California, we came across them everywhere, too. Brushy areas, the hills, and even in the desert. That's how our first beagle was bitten - a rattlesnake fell into the mostly bricked in patio with her. Being a nosy girl, she went to sniff it, and was bitten at the head, as most dogs and cats are. Luckily, she survived.
Still, when I worked with a herpetologist for a while, we gave talks and did rattlesnake shows for the public. That involved several rattlesnakes at our feet on stage. They still had their fangs, though we milked them regularly. My job was to use a hook and gently lift them, then shake them out a little when they started to coil. The longer we were onstage, the more agitated they became, as it was warm onstage.
