First good thoughts that the best arrangement is the result for all concerned. Including the Vet. I am thrilled that he has DDIL to help him find a home. That he can't keep his dog is a sadness for him and the dog.
I am praying that this dog is mellow and can fit into your family - that Krypto has a best friend for himself. And that the dog is able to adjust to your family - if that is what you want.
His size and breed sound like good fits. Candle lit for it and all of you and the Vet.
Ijust remembered that I had a dog that whinned after being rescued, I had the BAZARS but I could tell this was in home dog. I happened to be going througha box of DD's stuff from her childhood and the dog was with me - he ended up being relocated - but he was very lonely as none of the BAZARS took to him. I didn't notice that a smallish stuffed animal fell on to the floor. The dog began to sniff it and grabbed it with its mouth and left the room. I followed and it had found a corner in the Quilting room and was asleep holding it. I was shocked. It stopped whining and I think he lived in a house with small kids.
Shortly there after one of my neighbors found a home for it and as far as we knew the dog had a forever home with small kids and stuffed animals.
Have you ever heard of animals attaching themselves to stuffed animals? We used to do that at the LASPCA with small and very young dogs that were alone. Sometimes it worked sometimes not.
I will look forward to hearing how your possible dog does with Krypto. I wish them and you all the luck - he certainly sounds like a possible good fit.
Candles lit.
