But Rosie and Babe became companions. Horses and cattle bond when they are alone. They would eat at the same time, sleep at the same time in the same places together. One of the most awesome friendships between a horse & cow. It was a lovely relationship to watch as it developed.
But once we added Fritz to Babe & Rosie he slipped right into the duo and it became a trio. They walked together to my 2nd pasture and back to the barn together.
Rosies other babies she had stayed in our pasture and hung out with Fritz, Babe and Rosie. We were the only ones who had cows & horses in the same pasture. Worked for them.
If I took feed to the barn they would walk me to the barn and hang out and watch me load all the bins. The three of them were on my clock like Charlie and Chance have been. They knew when it was feeding time and met me at the gate by the house and escorted me to the barn.
I loved those animals and that ranch. And they loved me and accepted the dogs as companions as well. Burnt Oak Ranch was my Heaven. I miss it and all of them so very much.
