Ds said that she was a different dog away from home and with the woman's dog. He transferred her to his truck, and she was stoic. But, still having stress.
When they got her here, they left her in the truck while Ds pulled almost 25 ticks off of her - which were not bitten in but for 2. She had gotten them today while walking through brush, and they were just walking on her fur. Yikes!
Then, he took her out of the truck, and Dh came in and got Krypto. Krypto acted out, wanting to play, Hira just stared him down.
Finally, they went to walk her in, but she wouldn't come in. It took both guys to get her in the front door. She's still being stoic, though quivering a little. She's not racing around, sniffing, barking, or whining. Nothing. She's just lying on the living room floor. When Krypto sniffs too much at her, she rumbles a little, or else gives him a wolfy stare and he backs off.
So, she's really great in the house, so far, and she walks on the leash if you don't try to lead her. Then, she backs up. Her collar is pretty tight, but she managed to get it over one ear backing up, so we need to avoid that. If she gets loose, we'll never be able to catch her at this time.
To that end, Ds has taken 3 panels off of my garden and is making some sort of temporary instant pen out the front door. Hopefully, that will keep her from getting away when taken out.
Which made me realize that I have no idea how to tell when she wants out...
Krypto is currently leaving her alone as she lies on the floor. She is soooo quiet.
Watching her, it makes me appreciate how well-adjusted Krypto is.
Well, wish us luck. I think we will be fine in most respects, but for the going out and back in part.
