A kitten? Sheesh!!

Maybe their new dogs won't be a problem? Some Great Danes, for example, are quite mellow. We lived with on in the late 70's who liked getting to know everyone, but she wasn't much of a problem. Will they be adults or puppies? It also depends on if they train them to behave, or not. Good luck!
