I may have already posted this, if so, I apologize. She's learned 10 things in as many weeks.
She learned to sit.
To automatically sit to be leashed, and unleashed.
To sit at doors to come in, or go out.
To wait before going out/coming in.
To sit, and wait, while food is being served.
To do her business on command.
The word to get down, such as off the couch.
Where to sit for training lessons. I want her on the right side, and Krypto on the left side.
To shake paws when asked.
For a dog who didn't know how to walk on a leash, she's a star pupil. She walks beautifully on a leash now, whew!
She's in the process of learning not to bark at certain things,
And, is being desensitized to shaking out blankets, fluffing pillows, and similar things, but she's a work in progress on those.
She's got a small stubborn streak about some things, and her former life sometimes freezes her. I am sure now that she's been hit, and it's not easy to overcome that, but progress is definitely being made.
She's definitely a food hound, and if there's a treat, she's there! She doesn't try to take Henry's food and treats because Krypto doesn't let her. He runs a tight ship when it comes to bad behavior!
Her tail now wags daily - it didn't for some time, and she's bolder when it comes to doing things. In fact, she's become so bold that, rather than jumping off of the couch when she sees you staring at her, she ignores you when you ask her to get down! So, now she's learning to get down when asked, lol!
And, these days, when Krypto trots into the kitchen, she trots right in step just behind him. It's so cute to watch. She's not tiny, but she's smaller than he is, so he has 'mini-me' right behind him!
Wish me luck, as I think that it's time to start walking her in the main yard. She's used to just running loose. But, now that she walks on a leash, and does it quite well, I think that it's time to take that step. Since she's soooo food oriented, I'm not above luring with treats to keep her attention at first.
And, now that she sits like a champ, I think that it's time to choose a new behavior for her to work on.
Well, that's about all, but I'm very happy with her 10 week progress.
