We used to get a lot of deliveries, and I used them as training opportunities, since he was a pup, to teach Krypto that he could bark once - maybe 2ce - but then we were in charge, and he needed to sit quietly while the delivery person got the package from their truck, brought it over and set it down, etc.
But, we don't get that many deliveries anymore, and Krypto doesn't get to practice, plus, he got a little full of himself when Hira got here, though I have to admit that, that part is going away.
But, today, we did get a delivery, and worse, from Krypto's standpoint anyway, it was delivered in a small truck by a 3rd party, not Fed-Ex or the like.
Krypto ran to the kitchen door, and barked twice. Dh went to door behind him. When he got there, Krypto didn't bark. It was too late to leash him, and take him out, but when Dh stepped out, Krypto didn't try to go out with him, and he was alert but mellow the entire time the man was here and walking over the box.
I was so happy to see his training kick in, and him do what I've been training him to. 
Maybe some of it will rub off on Hira, lol!
