Plus if I am at the Community Ctr it can be worse. 8-(
As for Charlie I feed him his early dry food just a small handful. Then we both go back to sleep unless I am wide awake then I check out the news on my cell. I am a news fanatic!
Then we get up at 5:30 or 6am.. I prep all the wild critter food while Charlie waits by the door - and not always quietly.
That takes us 20 minutes maybe and hopefully he does his business if not we have to go out again in about 45 minutes. If he runs that sets his system to GO! I have to let him run and check everything out on all 4 sides of our yard. The deer have been around - on one side of our yard or the other and he goes Deer crazy.
It's big yard and he loves to run... I just worry about his hip, but he needs it like breathing. I totally understand that need.
Anyway, we go out again before I am off to the CCtr. He does much better as I now go out most Wed & Fri ams till maybe 1 or 2 if I go to lunch with them.
With it so hot I go home and let him out. With the house usually "decently" cool he is ok. I feed him a small lunch. He is looking a tad thinner as he gained a bunch of weight since his meds. I now give him canned food more often - just a spoonful - But it has really help make him regular since his meds do have an effect on his bowels.
Then in the afternoon - we go out again for a bit so he can pee. Depending on when I got home on weds & fri it may be we go out at 3pm. It's hot then but hotter at 4pm.
Every other day of the week we go out between 1pm & 2pm. Then not again to 5 or 5:30pm. That's when the trees provide the most shade.
I let him go off leash now as my neck won't allow me to hang on to him if he runs. I have taught him to "walk" but if there are deer, dogs, people, a robot or a motorcycle he is off like a shot.
He has dinner at 4 or 5pm.... and ocassionally a milk bone or two - the small ones. Also a Darford or two after every meal.
When the sun is down we don't go out - unless he realy needs to. Otherwise he goes to sleep. Which is why we wake up at 4 or 5am.
Charlie does very well when I leave - though he stands on the loveseat and barks as I leave. Once I have walked down the hill - he just watches for me as he can see most of the road. But no longer barks at me.
Sometimes with the weather so hot - I have to call him to wake him up when I get home on Wed & Fri.
Usually Cooler weather would change all that, but I don't know we are going to have any cooler weather.
Still Charlie loves me coming home and I hate to say it but he grabs my leg and etc etc etc. If you know what I mean. He is very possive of me when I've been gone and makes his displeasure know. 8-(
But we always try to get out as often as possible and not just for his exercise. Unfotunately mose of my yard is dying off. Even my giant Redtips are in very bad shape. We haven't had any rain for months now. They say "Maybe" some spinkles here and there but no rain to speak of.
Thank goodness I have been able to keep my bedroom from getting as hot as it did with the sun moving closer to the Equinox on Sept 23rd. That puts it behind A's trees sooner during the day.
On the Equinox, the sun always rises at the bottom of our road at sunrise and sets at the top of the road at sunset.
I usually let Charlie out as soon as there is first light which is the light before Sunrise. Then he goes inside and I walk to the mailbox and usually the sun rises as I dget there. I love that time or day and so does charlie as not many folks are up or driving at 6am. First light is at different times of course... and Charlie barks when he can see the driveway. He is first out the door as I feed the birds in the driveway and the squirrels their nuts. I feed the back yard critters wafter I get home with the mail. Then he is out side with me again as I take the trash out, etc.
Oh well this is probably more then you want to know about our day. But we both love getting out side. Even if he is wacko over the deer and walkers and etc. 8-) Now if it would just cool off a bit.
