Texas is home to any number of bat colonies. Especially one in Austin that lives under an overpass on the freeway. I have seen them take to the skies a couple of times.... HUGE CLOUDS OF BATS. Absolutely stunning to watch. I haven't checked recently on how the colonies are doing with this drought. Will check and post an update if there is one.
