Do your dogs make use of beds especially for them, or prefer to share human resting spots?
Unless it's sweltering out, at which point he lays on the floor, Krypto generally is a bed/couch dog.
On his first night here, Dh brought him on the bed, and I warned him that, if he didn't want him to do it, then don't start. Well, he felt sorry for him, and brought him up...where he's slept ever since, lolol!
He does sometimes go into his crate to rest, but I don't know why, and it's usually for a short period of time. It's mostly become a place for chew bones to hang out.
Hira, on the other hand, has only 2 places. From day one, the couch...which I think is because of her joints, and a dog mat that we gave her when she came in.
Oddly, while she will lie on the couch if you sit on it, at bedtime, once she's off of it, she won't come back up to sleep; she's on her mat for the night. We've tried to call her up, but she wants nothing to do with it, once it's bedtime.
Then again, she makes a big differentiation between day and night. I suspect that it's because her last person became unstable at night, and because he might have put her outside for the night.
I still do want to get, at least her, a really warm dog bed, which of course is comfortable for her joints, for the winter. The mat that she has now is one of Krypto's old ones, and because he's got that double coat, and he sleeps with us, it could be warmer. Fine for other seasons, but perhaps not real winter.
How about your pups?
