We have a couple of game cams, but also now a couple of regular cameras.
The game cams are set where animals are likely to come around, and are motion activated when an animal moves near it/in front of it.
What I dislike about them is that:
A - They are activated by anything that moves, including leaves, which eventually takes all the space.
B - The photos aren't sent to a remote location. Therefore, a person caught on one can simply remove the disk and take it with them. Argh!
What I love about them is that:
A - They are easy to move around to where you need them.
B - They are wireless.
C - They are perfect to see what's hanging around.
I've caught skunks in the chicken yard at night on them. Also bears, etc.
Come to that, I've caught 2 people on them over the years. They must not have seen the cameras, or else they could have stolen the camera or just the disk.
I imagine that whoever set this game cam was as surprised as we were to see that a marten tripped the camera and was caught on 'candid camera!'
