The Lonely Young Princess "
Once upon a time
Or so the legend's told
Lived a lonely young Princess
In a kingdom of crystal and gold
Her small kingdom surrounded
By a great crystal wall
As was her castle
With its golden towers so tall
No one knows who built it
Or who gave it such charm
Only that the wall protects the kingdom
And it's Princess from harm
Though the great wall kept her safe
Legend says it carried a curse
Keeping her alone in her kingdom
Where her loneliness grew worse
But its said the curse could be broken
But only by prayers of the purest of heart
Only then might Heaven intervene
And grant her life a new start
She prayed that one day
Her Prince would be sent from above
So she could share the wonders of her kingdom
With her own true love
No one knows for sure
Perhaps a great wizard once waved his magic wand
Allowing her to see through the crystal wall
To the world that lay beyond
A world much different than hers
It was filled with both wonders and fright
With great monsters and giants
That walked in its light
But there was one giant among them
She sensed that meant her no harm
In fact his gaze more than once
Seemed captured by her charm
But when darkness would fall
And the last ray of light was gone
Another creature came out lurking
Within the shadows till dawn
Even from within her castle
The Princess could hear its evil growl
It's eyes glowing through the darkness
Forever on the prowl
Then one night as she was resting
Something hit the great crystal wall
It was hit with such a force
The Princess feared her castle might fall
Her pounding heart knew without doubt
It was the beast of the night
She would get little rest
Until she saw the morning light
But when morning finally dawned
The Princess was over come by surprise
Heaven had answered her prayers
Her Prince was before her very eyes
He looked magnificent to the Princess
His armor shimmering in gold
She had found her own true love
To now have and to hold
The Prince didn't know how he got there
Just that he had felt a great presence near
And when he awoke in the morning
He had found him self here
For both the Prince and the Princess
It was love at first sight
Brought together by fate
With a love that was right
They explored their kingdom together
Never leaving one another's side
They began planning their future
Both the Prince and his bride
She took him to the edge of their kingdom
Where he could see the strange world beyond
In disbelief he wondered
What creatures could this world have spawned
She told him of the giant
With the kind and friendly face
And of the night beast that stalks her
And then vanishes with out a trace
He then promised his Princess
To protect her with all of his might
Vowing to stand guard in the castle doorway
All through the night
And once darkness had fallen
He began seeing fleeting shadows in the night
He could feel the beast lurking
Knowing it lay just out of sight
Then something hit the great wall
The entire kingdom trembled and shook
Thrown back by surprise
Through darkness the Prince struggles to look
Then suddenly he saw it
His whole body grew tense
To him it's face was hideous
With fangs as long as the Prince
It attacked the wall with a vengeance
Slashing away with it's razor sharp claws
Trying to get at the Prince
With it's powerful jaws
Finally the beast stands up on it's hind legs
Stunned by the shear size of it all
The Prince summons all of his courage
As the beast leans across the great crystal wall
Even knowing in his heart
This battle can only end in defeat
He's vowed to protect his Princess
And refuses to retreat
The angry rage in the beast
Has now grown intense
As again and again
It slashes down at the Prince
Luring the beast away from the castle
The Prince uses himself as the bait
But he and the Princess both know
He will soon meet his fate
After a life time of loneliness
This is more than the Princess can bare
Knowing only a miracle can now save them
So she lowers her head in prayer
Wounded and weary
The Prince can no longer hold the beast at bay
When suddenly from out of the heavens
A great force knocks the beast away
Hearing the sounds of a raging battle
From within the darkness of the world beyond
Suddenly a great silence falls over their kingdom
As if the coming of a new dawn
Wondering if the beast will return
Time seems to pass at an ever slowing pace
But they find their answer at day break
In the eyes of the giant with the kind and friendly face
The beast has been banished forever
A celebration of peace begins to flow
In time, even their small kingdom
Begins to flourish and grow
Raising their children together
With a spirit of joy and laughter
