As to your question. I can't speak for other poetic people. But I have to MAKE myself work at writing them. Usually something is so lovely or horrible or unique that I NEED to write about it. Many years, I thought the well had gone dry as far as me writing any new poems. Short or epic, it was done. Then Rev. Ducketts presented a challange. He said he didn't write anymore. So I started nagging at him to kickstart his gift. And suddenly, I realized I had a gift, too, albeit so much LESS than his. I can't make all my thoughts into poems like he does. I try. I just can't. But we are each unique. And in our differences, we become POETS. You...too.
