Some look out across the desert
Seeing only a waste land of doom
It's sad they've never seen the beauty
Of a spring time desert bloom
-
Just shortly after sunrise
When the day is just new born
And all is very quiet
In the stillness of the morn
-
When the wild flowers have begun to open
Each with a sweet scent you can't ignore
And with every color of the rainbow
They blanket the desert floor
-
There's a coolness in the breeze
And with the air so crystal clear
It's now the desert awakens
And signs of life appear
-
In the distance is a coyote
Who's being followed by her pup
While an eagle soars overhead
And prairie dogs begin to pop up
-
A rabbit quietly nibbles on a flower
With his night of slumber now done
While a lizard scurries to a rock
To warm himself in the morning sun
-
If you look with your heart
There's peace all around
For there's a solace to this land
With a serenity I've always found
-
From it's glistening white sands
To it's blue sky above
It's here that I'm at home
Upon this land that I love
-
So don't look for me in the big city
I would never survive the gloom
I prefer to live my life
Enjoying the beauty of a Spring Time Desert Bloom.
