You brought me into this world
Then rocked me to a lullaby song
You taught me how to laugh and smile
You taught me right from wrong

You let me play on sunny days
And even in the rain
You picked me up when I fell down
Then you kissed away my pain

You made sure I had enough to eat
Before you tucked me in each night
You helped me say my prayers
Making sure I did it right
-
Through you I learned good manners
And how to do my chores
You helped me with my home work
Knowing that education opens doors
-
You instilled in me a passion
To be the best that I could be
And you taught me how to be forgiving
Of the faults in those around me
-
Your patient efforts were not in vain
I passed these values to kids of my own These are lessons never
forgotten
Even now that each is grown
-
And as I've watched my grand kids play
I've found a delightful surprise
For I always see your loving smile
When I look into their eyes

Mom thank you for this path I've traveled
That your patience helped to pave
But Mom , thank you most of all
For all the love you gave .
