" Whispers "

We're born into this earthly world
Our Souls are pure and clean
The innocence of just one man
Has come to us unseen
-
We're given Grace and Mercy
And control of our own Life
What we choose to do with it
Could bring us joy or strife
-
But I chose a path of sinfulness
It started in my teens
Not knowing what I was headed for
Or the heart break that it brings
-
There was drinking and parties
And lying to my folks
Not caring about one's feelings
Or the meanful things I spoke
-
But I seem to hear this whisper
From deep inside of me
Saying " This is not the way,
For a child of mine to be "
-
I tried to ignore these whispers
But they wouldn't go away
Every time I was being mean
I could always hear them say
-
Look deep down within yourself
To see the things you've done
Are you prepared to stand up tall
When Judgement Day has come
-
So I went into my inner self
The battling has begun
To triumph over Evil
And walk hand in hand with God's own Son
