What a horrible sound to my awakening ear
yet, a wondrous new day was suddenly here
So many things on my list to get done
the dishes, the laundry, the windows a ton

Visit the doctor, the bank, and the store
wash the car, and I am sure there is more
A trip to the school is too on my list
I cant help feeling, something's been missed?

Have to have coffee with friends up the street
gossip of things with those I so meet
Must gas up the car for a fun shopping spree
polish the silver and get ready for tea

Oh, clean out the closets, take out the trash
pick up the pets from their bath, in a flash
yet something important I'm forgetting today
my mind swiftly spinning, what is it, I say?

I'll watch the soap operas, and tie up the phone
break out the goodies while I'm home alone
The mending is finished, the ironing was quick
and the mighty computer goes click, click, click

What's on the TV, but that funny new show
with questionable subjects as usual, I know
I cleaned out the fridge and threw out the stew
what else for this day am I forgetting to do?

Friends ask me over and with such delight
I wondered what games we'll play there tonight
Checked on my neighbor, could take her a meal
took time to listen was such a sweet deal

For love is the key for those cast away
so please make this fit in your long busy day
The day left me puzzled bewildered in thought
I know there is something to do I forgot

I answered the letters, paid all the bills
dusted the tables and swished all the sills
I took a long bath and got ready for bed
I'm still missing something, what is it I said?

I thought what a day as stressed and could be
I finally remembered what was missing you see
I asked for forgiveness and felt such dismay
I hadn't spend time with my Savior today.
