If I can lighten someone`s load
As they travel down life`s road,
My heart would oh, so happy be
To lessen someone`s misery.

If I can fill someone with hope,
Give them courage with which to cope,
Replace their sadness with a smile,
I`d feel such gladness all the while.

If I can brighten someone`s day
And chase their dreary cares away,
Morning, night and afternoon
My heart would sing a happy tune.
