Quake grumbled and mumbled in her sleep. Her ears shifted to something moving in front of her. Groggily opening her eyes, she sprung out of her sleep and clung to the ceiling like a spooked cat.
"MWHAHAAHAAA!" Harley burst into laughter backing up enough for the elemental after figuring out what she was to land on her feet.
Quake even though startled released her grip and fell to the floor with a thud, "OW!"
"Mwhahahahaha!" The white beholder laughed even harder. "My mistake, thought you were one of cat types! Mwhahahaha!"
The elemental managed to stand up and look the beholder in the face or the large eye. The dark circles under Quake's own eyes was a clear indication that she needed something to drink and not the fermented kind. "Geez! Stop that....that laughing. Oooo, my head. Why is everything spinning??!" Without thinking she grabbed the beholder's main body and dragging the both of them to the floor of the tavern.
***BU-THUD!!!***
"GET OFF ME!" Snarled Harley who underestimated the strength of the elemental who grappled him.
Quake found a bar stool that was rooted to the floor and used it to pull herself off of the aberration, "Sorry. Could I get something to drink? Kinda parched and woozy."
The white beholder rose up from the floor in complete shock and just blinked at Quake, "Damn! What exactly are you?"
"An elemental. An elemental dragon who goofed on a shape-changing spell to look human-ish," Quake said sitting down on the bar stool. "I'm Quake."
Mertul was at the bar checking inventory standing on a big crate to appear taller that she actually was. Grabbing a bunch of fruit, and juicing them together in a entire stein for the elemental to drink. "Here you go. It'll hydrate you and help take away the pounding in that head of yours."
"Thanks," Quake began to drink it slowly.
The white beholder floated up next to Quake on the left. He looked at Mertul, "Everything is in order, mum. All patrons are accounted for and trouble makers dealt with properly."
The dwarf woman placed another large stein with a straw in for the beholder to use. "Seems you've made a friend, Harley. Got lots of things to talk about probably. Don't mind me, just taking inventory for the day."
The white beholder took a long sip through the large straw complementing Mertul, "Ahhh. Tis good this is. Just how I like it."
Quake continued to slowly drink the juice to clear her head, "Harley, not the name I figured someone like you," She paused noticing some of his eyes stalks already looking her direction, "yeah..sounds like a good name."
