I b roke and severely sprained my ankle a number of years ago and wore a cast that went just below my knee. I was in it for 6 weeks. My biggest problem was after they took it off. Mt injured area was fine, no pain or tenderness. But my Achilles tendon was so freaking tight I knew it was a rupture waiting to happen. I could not flex my foot at all which of course made walking a real challenge. My Doctor hooked me up for PT, Not anything I wanted, but so glad I did go. It took a few months of 2 times a week PT to get the thing to finally break loose. So I would suggest you consider PT when it gets off so you can get your full range of motion back.
