I was looking over some momentous from my first trip to Mayberry Days back in '89 and came across the questions asked in the trivia contest. In the early days of the festival the questions were printed in 'The Mayberry Confidential', the official program for the festival, and entrants would fill in their answers and turn them in by Saturday night when the winner would be announced at the talent show. The problem with that was people were bringing their TAGS trivia books and looking up the answers so they eventually went to the current format with someone asking the questions to the assembled entrants. I always thought I knew some TAGS trivia but I never even placed in the top ten in the ten years that I went.
