Finished watching the series last week and watched the first made for tv movie With 6 movies to go.

I don't know what the competition was , but I never did see the series , but i'm glad now that i've watched them all. As I understand it, they had a few episodes to go, but James Garner's health wasn't all that wonderful, so they couldn't film those episodes.
