High drama in the Bronx tonight.
My biggest question. Is Caleb Williams as bad/ inconsistent as we witnessed yesterday?
Or is it Eberflus?
Was it 2 years back? 3?
& I don't remember if it was TNF, mnf or mnf.
Eberflus coaching the bears. Justin Fields at QB.
Eberflus was out of control on the sideline. Blowing his top. Seemed like wild swings of emotions. All we can do is observe. We don't really know the full details of what was being said between staff & players, staff & refs.
It has however, forever stuck in my mind. Eberflus was not in control. Isn't that the 1st priority of a coach? Maybe I'm wrong?
I was ready to criticize Dan Quinn concerning the 4th & inches punt around the 4 minute mark. It sure felt to me. My view on how games play out in 2024. With a 12-7 lead, the punt would be followed by a time bleeding TD drive & a bears victory.
In my opinion. 4th & inches at their own 12 TD line. The Skins should have run a QB sneak. If you don't make it. Chicago scores a TD and then the skins have enough time to try and win it or tie it with a fg.
Instead the punt and what I assumed would happen occurs. We all KNEW it would happen. Chicago burns most of the clock up in scoring a TD. A 2 point conversion gives the bears the almost certain 3 point win.
A funny thing happened in the way to the bears post game celebration. Jayden Daniels willed the skins to a miracle win.
It doesn't change the fact. Same thing I suggested of oconnel. You have to go for it on 4th down. You can't punt inside 4 minutes of a 1 score lead. Not anymore. You try on 4th down. For 2 reasons. 1- to run the clock out on your opponent. Or 2. So they score quicker if you don't convert 4th down.
Lol- just like last years Stroud/ Young matchup that ended as time expired(15-13)
The Caleb/Jayden matchup was a fg feast, ending on last play of the game.
Speaking of Bryce Young... Wow.
I'd feel bad for him if it weren't for the salary. And the many chances he'll get elsewhere.
Bryce Young looks worse than his Alabama patriot counterpart Mac Jones.
How about the Gopher kid Browser?
Perhaps best QB the program has had in 50 years?
100? Lol- which isn't saying much. Goldy U is not much of a QB factory.
All that said- Tom Brady is correct. The league is dumbed down for the glut of spread qb's absence of pro-set training. The result is a league of mediocrity. The parody of parity.
Oh well. What ya gonna do? Spend wintery Sundays watching "Housewives of ATL/ Golden Bachelor" reruns?
