Nobody goes to Alaska.
Oregon was so solid blue when I lived there. Idaho so solid red.
Lol, neither side even bothers spending money on ads in Idaho.
It's pointless for me to vote.
All the freedom caucus- defund the government- reds will win every state contest, Congress and the Pouting POTUSx will carry Idaho in a landslide.
But I'll still vote.
If you don't vote- you can't be taken serious on anything political. You forfeit the right to critique.
My 1st national election was 1980.
I've only missed 1 midterm or national since.
Ironically. The Obama/ Romney election.
I/we had moved from Ak to Oregon. The trip down on the AlKan hwy became a 30+ day adventure. By the time we got there, to Oregon time was short on registering in Oregon, establishing residency etc.
As well, I felt pretty comfortable the Republicans would get rejected terribly post George Jr's Fiasco presidency. Thankfully it wound up a near landslide. Instead I spent all of my time helping my dad. Radiation therapy had zapped his strength. He was almost wheelchair bound. It wasn't long after the election that he was infact, in his wheelchair or sitting on his rolling walker to get around.
I watched those Obama returns with my dad. Took his mail-in to the post office for him.
My dad was grinning that night. He kept saying, " there's hope for this country yet, that we can come together and elect a minority man as president".
It would destroy my pops, if he were alive for Trump's handling of COVID, his jan 6 display, his current campaign of extreme divisiveness.
The people that lived through the depression, WW2.. I think a huge majority would be infuriated.
Trump couldn't get elected to mayor of a town of 10 if it were those members of " the great generation".. unfortunately, most that will vote in this election. Either deny history or never learned it.
What can ya do. Ya can't make the horse drink.
