If Lions should win, which is the expectation.
The lions stay ahead of the vikings by 1 game in loss column and hold the tie breaker.
With a loss, the Packers fall 2 behind the vikings in the loss column, with MN holding the tie breaker.
It sounds like a recipe for a letdown on sunday when the pissed off slaty Falcons come visit & try to go dirty bird revenge for their ancient leader "kah-kah-kurkado a-cousins" in the Florio vernacular.
The vikings season has been one if expectations met & by far exceeded. And that IS a great story. Until its not as a result of a face plant at the feet of an organization most viking fans despise. And a qb that gave us the finger despite the perps paying him above his worth.
Its all good. Kudos to kirko for getting paid. I dont begrudge anyone that works the game for a payday. As the saying goes. Hate the game, not the player. And i do dislike the crazy inflated salaries(juan soto is rumored on track for $700m- $750m payday)... The escalations are out of control!
And , me personally. Years back. There were teams i really disliked. With age, i guess comes respect? Maybe its wisdom? More likely just exhaustion- lol! It just takes more energy. Something old men learn is a limited commodity.
To actively dislike something. Than to just sit back and appreciate talent. Perhaps thats why im enjoying watching the Denver squad this year. That Bo Nix us just tossing beautiful tight spirals. Ricket ropes that travel 40 yards. Lopping bucket tosses 25 yards to the chalkline. Perfect in strude halfback screens. The full repretoire that i havent seen in years. His arm talent accuracy might be the best weve seen in the nfl since Dan fouts was young.... Lol once again i digress. Im becoming Joe Biden. Ramblin man. Or maybe its the trumpian weave. Lol.
The point i wanted to make.
A packer win tonight, it keeps the Vikings hungry. The carrot dangles for a week 18 showdown. And their cross border rivals stay hot on their heels. Snarling, the ice fog of lambeau rising from the exhaled heated breaths of a hungry group that wants revenge.
The vikings gave Detroit all they could handle back in week 6. The perps had something to prove. They were hungry. Id like to see that same effort on the final sunday in motown! The same level of hunger from both squads.
Not the detroit has clinched scenario. Certainly not the most common vikings scenario. Where they back in as an already clinched 6 or 7 seed.
TNF tonight sets the narrative of the final push.
Should be a great game- as always. My biggest hope is that the officiating doesnt steal the night.
