Give Cam Robinson ink- move him to guard. Scour free agency & draft for a center. One that began his athletic career wrestling at some midwest highschool. Possibly, move oneil to guard and slide walter rouse to RT. Brian Oneil continues to lose a notch every season. He got beat alot this season.

Tackles are important. When theyre bad. It shows up quickly. But an offensive line. Being able to dominate. Is built inside out. If the weak link is in the middle. The gate flings open. If the weak link is on the edge. Then you have a weak edge but the other 3/4ths is a safe zone.
In practices. Work endlessly on stoping stunts. Just like a defensive line gets gashed w/o gap integrity. Watch the vikings o-line these past few years. They get manipulated out of position with stunts. The o&linemen over reach- over slide. Lose gap integrity and suddenly. A delayed rusher has a free path to the ball carrier/ qb.
Especially in zone blocking schemes.

Those zone schemes. They should only be added later when an O-line is so consistently great at performing the basics. Ie- maintaining gap integrity and always establishing that half moon shaped pocket a qb sees & trusts.

Kirko- as the games rolled by. As his experience grew in the viking scheme. Kirko came to realize. He could never trust there would be a pocket to step up into. Darnold came to understand this even quicker. Somewhere around that jacksonville game. Darnold began playing with one eye on the line play that fronted him. Maybe it was the 1st lions game? The Rams game? But it all changed for sam at that point.

It looked like he was holding the ball longer. In reality. He wasnt able to keep his eyes downfield. There was no longer any trust.
A team ruins the qb so quickly when the trust between qb & pocket disolve.
No qb. None! Can stand tall & get a helmet planted in his chest- gut- knees, play after play. And not get the yips.

If JJ McCarthy is going to become a franchise qb.
The vikings need to not do that insanity thing.
Plan to play it the same and expect a better outcome.
