Gas prices keep jumping up out here after hitting around $2.70 per gallon at the end of Bidens term. Were already up to $3.30 a gallon in a months time. And, crude is jumping up today. Not by pennies a barrell. But by dollars a barrell. Commodity markets that had been in a steady if slow decline the final year under Biden, are now jumping back up at 3, 4, 5 sometimes 10x the pace of the decline that was on pace to nearly halt inflation.
Incase you didnt know. Supermarket prices & gas pumps fall when commodity prices decrease. But it is a slow process to gain decline. Companies want to hold their prices as long as possible. Conversely. When commodity prices march higher. Companies do not wait to raise prices even tho the raw materials being refined into consumer goods dont reach point of sale for months. Sometimes a year or more.

That Trump deflation he promised? It isnt coming to you in the near term. Infact. Its appearing even worse inflation than the pandemic caused hikes are likely headed our way.

What happens then?

Coupled with a cutting of federal dollars spent on federal wages& reimbursements, The wages to those in the deletion que of yet announced government bureaus. The pressures that puts upon support industries. Likely result in expectations by next fall a surge in competition for jobs. Competition reduces salaries. Its an always connected economy. That is the actual trickle down effect. Only its more of a trickle sideways thing.

As I stated long before the election. Those federal dollars every republican bltches about spending on employees & services, those dollars circulate through the economy. Keep the waitresses, welders & wildcaters employed, who in turn byuy other goods & services. Add in tariffs, a trade war and removal of migrant workers from the apple orchards & lettuce fields. I smell the perfect storm brewing in the distance. Perhaps former FBI agents, aid workers or faa inspectors will become the next group of farm workers? Ha, no! But perhaps they displace lesser candidates in other professions. The displacing of employees trickles down until waitresses, busboys & customer service personnel are fored to chose between homelessness or the lettuce fields

Thats when Trump deflation could arrive. Except it wont matter. If/when thaose firces combine to lower costs for consumers. The economy will be in freefall. The financial collapse of 2007/8 will look like childs play in comparison. The lack of available services will become similar to the pandemic shutdown days.
