Boise area is somewhat of a split red/blue demographic. Maybe 40/60 blue/red. Kinda like Atlanta is to Georgia, but on a much smaller scale.
North Idaho & rural Idaho are easily 80%+ red.

Back in the George Floyd moments. Somebody announced on social media that a black live matter rally was scheduled for a local Couer D'alene grocery store parking lot.
It was estimated between 500 & 800 armed militia in full gear showed up to "qwell the unrest". A25-30 people were arrested. The arrested were the 25-30 high school girls that planned the protest. Police stated they were arrested to ensure the safety of the school children. They were released uncharged to their parents.

Around the same time frame. A drive through blm protest was rumored on social media. That outsiders would drive down "the lake district" flying george flag support banners. It turned out to be a fake post. The CDA newspaper took pictures of the street sidewalks that day. For 8-10 blocks. Full gear, semi auto carrying- local militia lined both sides of the street- shoulder to shoulder. Estimates were 2-3k "soldiers" showed up- locked & loaded. Men & women. Trump flag pickup trucks patrolled the side streets.
Further north. Alongside the highway as you enter Bonners Ferry & Sandpoint. "Trump country" billboards are erected. Huge billboards- standing tall & proud at the city limit markers.

I quit going to church as the sermons have turned into Trump Rallys/ Democrats are satan recitals.
I was once rather Chummy with the local priest. I live next to the catholic church- by my choice back in 2013. Father still calls every now & then. Invites me to mass. I just cant do it. It feels like sacrilegion. Kindness, forgiveness, coexistence replaced with red anger/angst- us vs them- end of days schtick.

Famous quote- or is it a truism? "Ignorance breeds contempt".

Its not going to change in my lifetime. If anything- its only going to get worse when the trumpkins realize it was all a grift.

For the moment. This space in time. Its all calmed down around here. They "own the libs" and signs point to the realization of their anarchy dreams. They be happy.
