I dont understand why.... 1. These events arent televised in the usa. I mean- they broadcast frisbee league & chase tag. 2. There isnt a push in the usa to make the sport relevant. It has a following and some clubs in your area. Why hasnt it expanded west past the dakotas, and east past michigan/wisconsin. I think? 1 is responsible for 2 & vice- versa. Without exposure via television and local tournaments, peoples interest wanes after every olympics. As well, without getting children involved- very few will become fans or future participants. In alaska it was popular in fairbanks. They had a handful of clubs. But just 500miles south in anchorage/ kenai it wasnt. We as adults. We want activities that get kids off "screen time". Many can be expensive. Hockey, skiing, snowmachine. In areas where there usnt snow. What is there for kids in winter? Curling seems like a no brainer to me. Scrubbing that broom is a workout. Sliding the rocks increases flexibility. And being on a team nutures social engagement. I guess im barking at the wrong tree. Lol. The reality i see. Parents find their kids to be exhausting & annoying. Handing them a screen and a bag of chips seems to be USA parenting 101. That was how my wife saw it. It was a constant fight that tesulted in me being a single dad. Why do people have kids? If you want a companion with an off switch. Buy an Alexa tower- lol. Get an old dog. A parakeet. A gold fish. Parenting is a participation sport. Sorry, I cant discuss anything anymore w/o breaking into the old guy rant. It must be tiresome for ya'll! It annoys me & its my dam brain. Pappy always told me- w/e you do. Dont grow old. Lol✌️ ha! I personify the proof ☹️ |
