Going on what I read. He made a public pronouncement that ge has a congenital issue in his shoulders. Causing reoccuring shoulder stinger symptoms. Ive read speculation that its likely a degenerative disk in his neck. The proof that its an issue lay in his ir designations the last couple years. Put on the shelf a couple times for "shoulder injury".

In his time in san diego. The knock on him was always mediocre to bad in run support. Probably related to not wanting to injur the shoulders. An issue he struggled with back in college. That said. Nobody downgraded his coverage ability.

The vikings have a long history of prioritizing run support over cover ability at the cb position. Still. In a offseason where they made some impressive fa upgrades. Nearly everyone signed comes with injury history/concerns. So? Why not a brittle cb? It fits the teams 2025 identity. Whats another reservation in the hot tub?

The percentages cut both ways. If you sign 20 injury prone players. The odds go up that somebody is going to miss many games. At the same time. The percentage increases that somebody is going to miss the injury bug altogether.

Aided in all of this. I would imagine Samuels knows his own limitations. Meaning he would be an ideal depth signing. Spell a starter, play some dime packages. Come in at key late game moments etc. on the other hand. As a 50 snap 17 game starter? Bad idea.

I dont think theres cb help in the draft this year. And whats left in fa is uninspiring.
