Oregon has a bunch of good players. Ive watched them some. Mostly tho, i think its many underclassmen.
Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs have been great for ohio state. I could see Styles being a heckuva scheme swiss army knife under Flores. Theres also some big anchor type centers, but ive given up hope the vikings will ever switch away from the light agile type their scheme prefers.
The Vikings need te's and for Koc to use them more in the run game. More traditionally in the pass game. Its seems the modern te's are schemed to be free runners in the open field. Chunk play candidates. When used in that manner. They are getting blown up with low tackles that land them on the IR. What good is that scgeme if you wind up with your stars injured? I think the slow plodder that sits in zones and blocks like a pulling guard is the better scheme design. Until the helmet at the knee launch tackle is removed from the game. The 6-6 lanky te that is a downfield matchup problem for defenses is a dead duck injury waiting to happen. Most defenses have gone to that launch tackle on that play.
It almost always comes with a brutal outcome.
I see were hearing kirko rumors. Imo, Itd be a step back in the learning curve for Koc. He - coach- has to get away from the chunk play 7 step drop bs. Defenses are too fast. That scheme plays directly into the 3rd & long narrative that became the path to destroy koc in every playoff game.
Idk what the answer is at qb. But its for sure not kirko. Im not fond of the idea of kyler murray either. Too much smoke concerning work habits. But at least Murray has some escapability.
My wish for this draft. Add the players needed to run the ball on 3rd & 1. Stop that same play on defense. Fix that issue for 2026 while the qb position resolves itself.
