Just like the run game has mad a big return.
So will tight ends. Having 2 or 3 that can catch and block is the next O- component that drives championships. Defenses will want to get bigger to slow down the run game. Recreating the plodding te as a game changer...
Rumor- (imo, good riddance). That was a bad trade and an iverpayment from day 1...
Paste:
... With little cap space, the Vikings will say goodbye to tight end T.J. Hockenson, who has had injury issues and is coming off two straight years with fewer than 500 receiving yards. He was tied for 33rd among tight ends in ESPN’s receiver scores through Week 17. Cutting Hockenson would save the Vikings nearly $9 million in cap space before June 1 and $16 million if designated after June 1.

Draft more Josh Oliver types. Less sam Laporta's, Tucker Krafts & TJ Hock-2eee's please. The 6-6 te with the long & lanky lower body... They cant stay healthy.
Largely, its a rules issue. It amazes me. A defender cant go below the waist vs lead blockers. A pass reciever cant be bumped in the head when trying to catch a pass. But a ball carrier can be launched at helmet to knee in the open field. It is one of the diriest plays in football. The helmet to knee launch has ended more careers than any other play in the game... And it remains legal. Insanity considering all the other player safety rules.
I know I keep bringing it up. Sorry. Seriously tho. It is a big deal.
Im somewhat surprised nobody has invented some type of carbon fiber sleeve that protects the knees of players.
