I can only say this.
Right wing tv media paints a very different portrait. Of both incidents. Trump admin parrots thru & thru.

I have always tried to get the different pov's.
How big stories are reported.
Then decide who telling me the closest thing to truth. Both sides are guilty of going blind at times to support their guy. That one side tho. The fux pov. Man do they get wierd in coverage so obviously aimed at distraction from the burning building that is out of the camera frame. The what aboutism is off the charts and often. Very very often the only defense. Sickening.

Concerning your neighbor. Every cop ive ever talked with. They are a "special" breed. Many across all political strain get captured by confirm bias. Its not an excuse. Its just a sad fact of our times. Perhaps its always been there?
Propoganda vs truth is difficult to differentiate. Gaining public support an unfortunate active neccessity of government.
