The bengals dipped into free agency yesterday, added a couple good defenders. I think they do that to quiet the internal criticism from a certain star qb. Joe isnt going anywhere. Even if he was available. Could the vikings squeeze him into the cap and keep the rest of the team?

With the defense the vikings can field under flores. Run the ball and have an efficient qb will win more games than overspending on a fa qb while thinning out the supporting players.

The KOC scheme has created a stream of qb's that have taken a beating every season. Burrows has shown. He doesnt survive all those hits. Lots of lil injuries caused by not unusual hits, pressures. The year kirko blew out his achilles? All the backups the team rolled through nc everybody got injured. Darnold took a beating but i guess has steel in his bones... But then last year. Both mcCarthy & wentz had as many injury moments as td passes. Hell, the Vikings would be wise to sign both Geno & Kyler. They might need 3 or 4 qb's to get through the season.

Something has to give. Either build a better line or alter the scheme. The easiest tweak, run the ball effectively & consistently to keep defenses honest. Running the ball consistently isnt achieved by signing a stud rb. Its achieved by not telegraphing plays by personnel and formation. Scheming up misdirection & deception.
Signing linemen that can win at poa. Less horizontal blocking, more downhill attacking
