But no, no resemblence to 1939 Hitler. No. None at all.
"At last, We have discovered the enemy. The enemy is us."
I dont recall the play, book, poem writing that quote comes from. But my goodness. If the shoe fits. Put it on.
The sadness I feel this Sunday after Easter. A season usually reserved for hope. Joyous activities. Romance perhaps?
This sadness weighs heavy.

The meaning of "the weight" is perhaps one of the most debated & ellysive rock/folk songs ever recorded.
Its one of my absolute favorites in the genre.
To me- its about a man that finds an enclave living a gentle righteous existence. They are neither welcoming nor shuttered. They just are.
Peaceful, gentle and w/o rule based structure. The people in the enclave just are. Existing righteously w/o being self righteous. If you can fit in. Stay. If you cant, then you'll be a stranger by your own manner.
Something of a metaphor for heaven. Or the version of heaven described/ complied into an idea from the words of St Bernard/C.S. Lewis/ Thomas Aquinas. A shared consciusness of peaceful loving acceptance amongst those bestowed with Gods grace.
The roots of the song are said to be ancient. A blend of Scotch, Irish, Appalachian lore. The unwritten poetry of the gentle & kind. Souls overlooked and unseen by the ambitious many.
The song, I think. Is meant to evoke a feeling. An emotion. Not deliver a message. To Feel the weight upon a kindly soul trying to survive a dastardly world.
