The 2 games since? Kinda looks like they spent all of their energy in that 1st game.
The last 2 games, it looks to me the wild speed advantage has been neutralized by a dallas size advantage. Old school bully ball.
Side note. I watched Carolina/ ottowa go to double it. Watched stars wild go to double it.
Don't like it.
The regular season 4 on 4 setup is far more exciting. Spares us from a bunch of gassed old men waiting for the other team to make a mistake.
What did I do last night... Fought myself from falling asleep in a 4.5 hour skatathon.
Same thing happened in the Ottawa yawner at Carolina. I did fall asleep during the intermission between period 4 & 5.
It also creates a disadvantage for these teams, whoever wins. When the get to the next round with weary legs. It takes a lot of games to reach the cup final. I think fans would rather see the best, playing at their best. Than gassed teams playing keep away awaiting a tired opponents line to pull a boner.
Those 1st 3 periods in St Paul? That was some great hockey. Spirited- fast- big hits. The last 2 periods? It was like watching the old timers game they used to play during the all star break. Tired, sloppy, slow and zero real threats until the most tired line sleep walks a game ender sequence.
Anticlimactic is putting it mildly.
Philly was playing great hockey down the stretch. It's carried over in their round 1 matchup vs Pitt. Young flyers. Old men Pens. Looking like a sweep?
