He remained a career .970 fielder .260 obp% guy as a utility man every stop. I always thought he was one of those underated contributors. Like Willie Castro. Small baller that would come through big in clutch moments.
I thought he was on the nationals this year. Had to look it up. Nats traded him back to Detroit in April. He began 2026 at yankees AAA.
Watching twins infield defenders Saturday make nearly as many errors as the had ab's...( Luke keschall is a defensive disaster)... There is a lot worse a team can do than having Zach short playing on your infield.
Sure, keschall will excite fans with his bat.
But he's gonna have to go ted williams .400 bad to make up for the .850 fielding pct.... Ya just can't play in the majors booting every 5th ball that comes your way... On Saturday he made 2 errors on the same play. Fielding & throwing. But. It was a home game, eh. & Hes a budding young star hometown promo opp. So. It was ruled an infield hit and run score error on the throw. The run score throwing error doesn't ding the fielding pct? Idk.
In my book. It was 2 errors on the same play. And the face plant into the infield dirt just added to the embarrassment. Literally, he got so twisted up. He face planted his nose into the infield diamond dust. Lifted himself up. And spiked a 6 hopper 3 feet wide of 1st base. As ugly a play I have never witnessed B4 in an MLB game. As embarrassing as the home run that bounced off jose cansecos head out in rf before ricocheting the final 10 yards over the fence.
