... I was there to get a pack of chicken, some flour & some veggies. As I walked past the fresh beef section. It struck me how scarce the case looked. Hmm I wondered a big sale/ price slash?
Silly me. I peaked at a rib eye steak. $39.99 a lb.😳 ... Sticker shock from a steak? WTF I thought...
So in my moment of masochism, I checked the tiny fillet just to the right. Just under 5 oz. It was. For $34... Nearly $100 per lb for fillet mignon.
So- I thought to myself. We should ask for the Clara Peuler analysis....
Where's the beef?
And she called me from the grave. Spoke to me gruff like. " Soon to be in the dumpster out back".
Ain't nobody in their right mind gonna pay $100 per lb for Walmart beef!
I mean... This ain't some fancy hand massaged imported Kobe beef. It isn't even local grass fed good flavor beef.
This was Walmart beef. Likely packaged a week or more ago and packed in the modern hermetically sealed with.04% carbon monoxide added.
A process called (MAP)- short for
Modified Atmosphere Packaging.
That $100 per lb sliver of tenderloin could have been slaughtered over a month ago... Not exactly Gourmet aged beef. Nope. It's just old. Sitting in poison gas awaiting its final destination. The sealed Walmart automated dumpster.
Where's the beef? It's boondoggle, lol for it in the link below.
