I shook his hands 1x at the oakland colesium. He declined autographing my ball. Bp foul i chased down. Harmon got pissed, came iver. Told me to wait the. Ged be back. 10 minutes later he returned. Everybody in the dugout signed it. Bert walked iver when harmon motioned him over (oakland pullpen was on the base lines back then. A bench with a roof like a bus stop .. I think I was 10. A year earlier harmon had signed a photo i had clipped out of the newspaper in 1870. So it would have been 'u71 that Carew snubbed the signing.

Lol .. we played ball with that autographed ball.... Wore it out until all the ink was worn off by grass & dirt....

Having a ball for a pickup game mattered more back then. Life sure is a funny ride.

I wonder if Harmon rememered me? In 72 he had the entire team autograph my 1b glove... Lol. I dont have that anymore either. It was forgotten in rhe leaky trunk of my 67 chevelle .. found a few years later. Had grown enough mold to get up & walk away. I grabbed it in a bag. Tossed it in the trash.
