Let me preface this with what we know about teams, team identitys, and head coaches.

Rare- very rare ate the hc's that adapt thiscyears scheme to the talent on hand. Bellichick is/was the best weve seen at this.
Sean Payton. I know mostbof you hate the pair. But both have put up winning dojinant seasons with both an offensive firework aerial circus as well as a running first, time of possession bleeding O backed by a D juggernaut.
Most teams and hc's are a 1 trick pony.

I bring it up bs the cfargers are now 0-6 withca qb many regard as u er talented. Yet. To date. Herberts team results have stunk wirse than any kirk cousin season. Jim Harbaugh was brought in yo fix the culture and produce results that match herberts talent potential. As big a fail, bad match we have not witnessed since les steckle was brought in to fine tune a veteran viking team byvadding madine drill sergeant daily discipline.

Jim harbaugh believe in a style of football i too buy into. Tough bastard bully ball Bill Parcells style. 3 yards and a cloud of dust that produces bloody knuckles on many plays. Harbaugh excelled in sf with a simplified passing scheme, great run game. Mobile qb and a bloody knuckle defense.

The charger Roster was created around lbers & safties producing big hits. Hughly drafted rb's and road grader linemen... Or we can suggest. A mirror pro image of his wolverine undefeated season that called for a qb to pass the ball 16- 25 x per game.

Justin herbert cane from an oregon Duck squad that would drop 52 points on teams by playing aur curcus. And when the oppo d dropped 5 or 7 in coverage. Only then run the ball.

Kevin oconnell offense with justin herbert playing qb as a pocket pressence statue? Thats a great match. ( Not that im a herbert fan, something is off with that guy). Still. The 2 guts, HC & qb are an exact match of what each do best.

Jim Harbaugh & JJ McCarthy. Again. The QB compliments the style of the hc. The 2 see football through the same lens

Harbaugh for herbert. That was the riggt move for all involved. Of coursevthe vikings would have needed to add a sweetner to get the deal done. Maybe a 1st round pick? Maybe a 1 & a 2?

Who knowsxwhat it woild have tsken- and. Charger fans( all 317 of em- lol) would have lost their collective minds over such a 1 sided trade.

Except? McCarthys fiery leadership is the opposite of justin herberts reputation and likely the exact thing the chargers team needs to quit losing. Indeed, on the surface, by teputation and expectation of a players worth. It is a lopsided swap. But it would have been the exact right move for both teams.

Too late now. Later, when Dart returns. The giants can ship jj off to the chargers. Koc, wherever hes coaching. Can beg his gm for a Herbert FA signing. Round pegs for round holes.
