Reply to Jo's request. Do you know there is a war memorial tablet in Holy Cross Church Basildon and a number of men killed on active sevice in the first world war are commemorated there. Also a young schoolgirl killed when a bomb hit homes in Gordon Road, Basildon in the second world war is buried in the churchyard.
