I worked at Clarke Chapman- John Thompson in the '70s.The company produced tankers for the collection of milk from farms etc.They also produced tankers for transporting fuel,oil and beer in bulk.I remember that on one occasion a tanker came in for repair that had been carrying chocolate,and there was still some left inside!The Company employed a wide range of tradesmen,fitters,welders boilermakers sheet metal workers and electricians etc.There were lots of characters there and I enjoyed my time working with them.
