I remember Jack very well. We worked together at the cinema for a number of years. I was the chief projectionist there. As you say a real gentleman. He lived at the time with his mother on the old Five Bell hill. The bungalow is still there and the tin mission hall next door. He married at a late age to one of the women that work with us. I lived on the other side of the level crossing from the Five Bells so I knew Jack before I started working at the cinema.
