It's finally PARADE TIME!! YAY!!
The parade will start tonight, Saturday, December 14th at 6:00 pm in the Dolphin canal. It will then proceed up and down every canal all the way to the Blue Heron canal. The after party for participants and donors will be at John Thomas' house at 285 Barracuda after the parade finishes. I want to give a huge shout out to all those who have donated money, gifts, food and services to make this parade great, the party great and most all, the prizes great! I think the participants will be pretty happy. And speaking of the participants, if you see someone out there decorating their boat today -go give them a hand. They are putting in a lot of effort and time to bring the parade to us in the comfort of our own homes!
Some things to remember for those who are viewing the parade from their docks:
*Please light up you dock area! It can be hard to see people standing on a dark dock from a well lit up boat.
*Please either light up or remove anything that protrudes from your dock - like diving boards, jet ski lifts, etc. This is very important! We try to cruise in close to the docks to throw candy, beads, whatever, and when all of a sudden there is something sticking out of the dock in front of us it can get pretty hairy.
*If you have green lights in the water, either sink them nice and deep or remove them for the night. We try not to run them over but they can be hard to see because our boats are so lit up.
*Please don't throw anything to the boaters without getting their attention first. The driver is concentrating on getting close enough to throw something, but not hitting your dock or another boat. It can be quite shocking to get smacked on the head with something even if it is jello shot (which are always appreciated by the way).
*Let us know you appreciate us! We love hearing it and we love doing this for the neighborhood!
