Last night was a sad night for the citizens of Bayou Vista.
The MUD 12 board with the approval of TCEQ and Galveston County Health District has the GREEN LIGHT to continue dumping 55 gallons a day of solid waste/sludge into the Bayou Vista canals. TCEQ and Galveston Health District will only test the clear water and they refused to test the solid waste/ sludge.
MUD 12 Board will continue to dump the waste/sludge until the holding tanks are clean. The huge sludge tanks have 3-7 feet of sludge in the tanks. MUD 12 board refuses to clean up the waste/sludge mound under the water at the discharge pipe located at the end of Pompano St. The mound is 2ft deep 10ft x 60ft and growing every day.
The Bayou Vista Mayor and council have not stepped up to protect our canals. I think we should have a special meeting to discuss the issues.
So the waste/sludge mound in the canal will continue to grow in our canals. The canals will become more polluted and the Texas elected officials are powerless to stop MUD 12 Board from continuing to dump 55 gallons a day of solid waste/sludge into the Bayou Vista canals. Our canals will be polluted with the waste/sludge mound for many years to come.
