I reached out to ACOE in an effort to locate the Project Manager for the "Canal Project" who Mr. Matthews referred to repeatedly as "Rueben". I made two phone calls to ACOE and was given a direct number for Mr. Rueben Trevino, ACOE Project Manager CAP 206 Restoration Project.
Mr. Trevino was so kind, professional and understanding. He advised me he was a public servant and he is here to help the community he serves in any way he can. HE has NEVER asked Mr. Matthews to have one point of contact, he never said he didn't want to hear any complaints or screw up his project. He wouldn't make that type of comment as business professional.
THE CAP 206 RESTORATION is an Aquatic Restoration not a Canal Restoration. He reviewed the Agenda and attachments Mr. Matthews had provided as handouts and advised him that using the word "Canal" was misleading and incorrect as this was truly an Aquatic Restoration. He also advised that he would probably not have permission to attend the September meeting as he was in the very early stages of this project and hasn't convinced his supervisor that the need is there. The project is 18 months for a report for approval. Another 12-18 months for design etc.
Mr. Matthews is on video claiming Mr.Trevino asked that we have one point of contact and didn't want anyone screwing up his project.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. I DEMAND RICHARD MATTHEWS RESIGNATION!
