We are continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Beta as it makes its approach to the Texas coast. There is no new information to provide regarding the storm's potential track and any potential impact to the City of Bayou Vista.
This information remains in effect from Friday's message.
* There is the possibility of tides being 5-6 feet above normal and winds in the 20-30mph range.
* Heavy rains of 10-15 inches through early next week are also possible.
* There is no evacuation order in place at this time.
Further updates will be posted as they are available.
Please make the necessary preparations for wind, high tide, and rain events. Secure any belongings that might be blown into or float into the canals. Secure your boats in their slips as high above the water as possible. Keep your vehicle's fuel tank full. Gather important papers and belongings together to take with you in case you need to leave your home.
