Galveston County Health District today reports 53 additional positive COVID-19 cases and 60 additional recoveries. All cases reported in today’s update are current.
To date, 195,733 tests have been administered in Galveston County.
Please note, the positivity rate for the week of Oct. 25 is now 5 percent, down from the 13 percent reported earlier this week. This is due to a large number of negative test results being reported to the health district. Those results reflected tests that were collected the week of Oct. 25, which accounts for the decrease in positivity rate.
However, the health district continues to see a steady increase in the number of new cases being reported and in the number of tests coming back positive. Looking at the seven-day trend, the health district is reporting an average of 44 new cases per day. That's a 21 percent increase from what we were seeing just two weeks ago."
Bayou Vista has 6 active cases as of today. BV had no cases on 10/29. Please wear cloth face coverings, stay 6 ft. away from others, wash hands or use hand sanitizer.
"For more case information, please see the health district’s COVID-19 dashboard at www.gchd.org/coviddashboard. Please note, you can choose to look at case data based on the date the test was collected or the date the test was reported to the health district. Case updates will be published Monday-Saturday at noon."
Stay safe and stay well.
