When we built our home 10 years ago, our builder apologized in advance to the elderly widow next door and told her to contact him if she needed anything. At her request, he even paid his subcontractor to repair her garage door, that had been poorly installed by a fly-by con artist after Ike. All very pleasant until the end. When the builder had a load of dirt delivered, it spilled 17” onto her grass. She called the police chief and started demanding that we re-sod her entire yard. On our first morning, in our new home, she came into our yard and started ranting about all of the ordinances that had been violated during construction. I had to call the Chief to remove her from our property. Luckily, the woman left Texas and we got nice, new neighbors.
